PROJECT SCOPE

  • Design and manufacture of the target system for irradiation and manipulation of the target capsule before and after irradiation on the cyclotron
  • Automated fully automated tube conveyor system station
  • Modification of the tube conveyor system ending station, which is located in a semi-hot chamber
  • The target station is equipped with a HEPA filter and a hermetic cover to prevent radiation from spreading into the cyclotron room when the target is transferred from the holder to the tube conveyor system

PROJECT CHALLENGES

  • Unique combination of know-how in industrial automation and ionizing radiation measurement
  • Complexity of the design solution
  • Safety and durability – the devices are located in close proximity to the target holder – all materials had to be radiation resistant
