Production line for assembly, adjustment and testing of light modules with DLP projector

We participate in the development of new technologies in the automotive industry

The Industrial Automation Division, or NUVIA Automation, supplied a production line for the assembly, adjustment and testing of light modules to our customer, which focuses on the development and production of state-of-the-art headlights. This time, however, the modules are equipped with a state-of-the-art DLP (Digital Light Processing) projector, which, in conjunction with the camera systems installed in the vehicle, ensures optimal lighting conditions for various vehicle situations in normal traffic and supports advanced assistance systems. The module also has the ability to visually support the advanced assistance systems installed in the vehicle.

The resulting light image in the DLP projectors is created by miniature mirrors that are placed on a DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) semiconductor chip. Each mirror in the resulting projection represents a pixel. Each mirror can be tilted rapidly so that light is let in or out of the module. The resulting light intensity is controlled by the ratio between the through and non-transmitted mirror positions.
