NUVIA secures five-year Radiation Monitoring Network maintenance and upgrade contract

NUVIA has successfully secured the maintenance and supply contract covering the UK’s Radiation Monitoring Network for the next five years on behalf of the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero.

This involves the routine maintenance and calibration of the existing equipment and any repairs that are required, along with potential future system upgrades.

This network of fixed gamma dose rate monitoring sites across the UK, along with an additional mobile monitor network automatically measure, analyse, and inform on background airborne radiation levels 24 hours a day. The data feeds into RREMS (Radiological Response and Emergency Management System) which is a key response capability within the UK national response plan.

Tom Jones, CEO of NUVIA said “Supporting the Radiation Monitoring Network is an exciting contract award, one that we are looking forward to undertaking over the next five years for the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The delivery of the contract scope is of significant strategic importance to the UK, one which will leverage NUVIA’s expertise in the design and manufacture of sophisticated radiation protection and detection instruments as well as maintenance services, and that we are uniquely placed to deliver.”
