At the Chooz A nuclear power plant, our teams carried out a highly technical operation in a very high radiation area, demonstrating their expertise in nuclear decommissioning and the management of complex environments.
To support EDF/ORANO in their packaging maintenance operations, our experts:
- Opened and then re-sealed a red zone with very high radiation levels (800 mSv/h) containing sensitive components, the Source Pencil Quivers;
- Implemented a protection and guidance system to remove a plug and install temporary biological shielding;
- Reinstalled the plug after maintenance using precision tools including cameras, laser markers and guiding systems, ensuring the protection of critical surfaces and remote guidance.
These operations demonstrate our decommissioning expertise and our ability to fully control highly complex and highly contaminating environments.
