Bringing together leading specialists from across government, emergency services, industry, and healthcare, RadTech 2026 delivered hands-on demonstrations of advanced radiation monitoring technologies in a unique real-world environment
On May 28 and 29, 2026, the RadTech 2026 expert workshop, focused on modern technologies for monitoring radiation levels, took place in Třebíč at the NUVIA facility. The event brought together experts from government agencies, security forces, industry, and healthcare, offering unique practical demonstrations in a real-world setting.
The workshop was held under the auspices of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and the Rector of the University of Defense, Brigadier General Jan Farlík, Ph.D.
Technologies That Protect Citizens and Infrastructure
The main objective of the event was to present state-of-the-art approaches to the detection, localization, and assessment of radiation. Participants and the media had the opportunity to see the technologies in action—from autonomous monitoring stations and drones to mobile and laboratory systems.
RadTech 2026 demonstrated the practical application of these technologies across the entire emergency response chain—from the early detection of elevated radiation levels to the intervention of integrated rescue system units.
Practical Demonstrations: Real-World Scenarios
The highlight of the program was an afternoon workshop at the NUVIA facility, which featured seven themed stations with practical demonstrations, such as:
- aerial monitoring using drones to locate radiation sources
- mobile area reconnaissance involving the Czech Army and firefighters
- localization and identification of an unknown source
- collection and analysis of samples in the field
- triage and decontamination of people and vehicles
- hospitals’ preparedness for radiation incidents
The demonstrations simulated real-life crisis situations and allowed visitors to observe the coordinated response of the various agencies, from detection through to managing the aftermath.
Expert Meetings and Knowledge Sharing
The event began with expert presentations at the Lihovar Center in Třebíč, where representatives from collaborating institutions and organizations spoke. The program was complemented by an evening networking session, and the second day was devoted to software solutions designed for data analysis and emergency management.
RadTech thus offered a comprehensive overview of modern radiation safety—from technology and data to crisis management.
