Behind every project, there are talented people.
We are pleased to continue our “Portraits of the month” series, shining a light once again on the people who shape NUVIA every day.
For this 3rd issue of this series, we present Martin HABÁN, Assembly Department Supervisor who joined NUVIA CZ in 2019.
Introduction & Career Path
Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hi I’m Martin Haban, I work as the Assembly Department Supervisor in the Industrial Automation Division at NUVIA CZ. Our division specializes in the development, production, and integration of automated assembly stations and lines.
What is your role at NUVIA and how long have you been working there?
I lead a team in charge of mechanical and electrical installation, setup, and adjustment of automated machines and assembly lines. My role is to coordinate our activities, ensure that health and safety standards are fully respected, and provide technical guidance whenever needed. I joined NUVIA in 2019 and have been supporting our clients’ projects with my team ever since.
What was your career path before joining NUVIA?
I graduated from a secondary school specializing in electrical engineering and joined the Industrial Automation Division immediately after completing my studies. I chose this career path because it combined everything I was passionate about at the time — electrical engineering and mechanics.
For the first five years, I worked as an industrial automation technician, gaining hands‑on experience in assembling and commissioning automated equipment. I later progressed to the role of Head of the Assembly Department — the same department where I had previously worked as a technician.

Job & Responsibilities
What are your main responsibilities?
My main responsibility is to coordinate the team of technicians, assign tasks for each project, and make sure we meet our deadlines. I also oversee health and safety compliance and provide technical support whenever issues arise or challenges need to be resolved.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most is being involved in every stage of a project — from design to final delivery. It’s fascinating to see an automated machine come to life and that’s what keeps me passionate about this job.
I also really appreciate the daily contact with my team, discussing workflows together and tackling technical challenges as they come.
What challenges do you face in your role?
Each of our machines is technologically unique, which means we face specific technical challenges that often require collaboration across the division. Working with people can also be a challenge. Every team member has their own working style, pace, and level of experience, and it’s important to adapt to each of them to ensure the team functions smoothly as a whole.
What motivated you to join the Nuclear Industry?
I didn’t set out to work in the nuclear industry from the start. My path into this field developed gradually as our portfolio of machines and technologies expanded over the years and eventually began to find applications in the nuclear sector.
Life at NUVIA
Do you have a memorable anecdote or moment you’ve experienced at NUVIA?
Looking back, one of the moments that stands out most for me is our move into the new production facilities. We had to relocate a significant amount of equipment, materials, and machinery — a task that seemed overwhelming at first. Due to circumstances linked to the completion of the building, the timeline became very tight, and we had to carry out the entire move in a very short period. But everyone stepped in. No one complained about the workload, and thanks to the team’s commitment, willingness to help, and strong cooperation, everything went smoothly in the end.
What makes the difference at NUVIA? The willingness of everyone to help each other — especially when challenges arise.
