NUVIA participates in Nuclear Week in Parliament 2026, reinforcing collaboration and leadership in the nuclear sector

From 19 to 21 January 2026, NUVIA took part in Nuclear Week in Parliament (NWiP), one of the most important events in the UK nuclear calendar. Organised by the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA), NWiP brings together parliamentarians, industry leaders and technical experts to discuss the future of the UK nuclear sector, including new projects and key topics across the nuclear lifecycle.
The 2026 edition attracted hundreds of representatives from Parliament and industry, underlining the event’s strategic importance. The programme featured a busy schedule of panels, receptions and side meetings, all aimed at strengthening engagement with policymakers and advancing discussions on the role of nuclear energy in achieving the UK’s long-term energy objectives.

NUVIA’s participation: active engagement and collaboration

NUVIA maintained a strong presence throughout Nuclear Week in Parliament, strengthening its institutional profile and reinforcing engagement with parliamentarians, clients, partners and key stakeholders across the sector. The event provided a platform for NUVIA to contribute to strategic discussions shaping UK energy policy, while showcasing its capabilities, expertise and core values, and engaging on critical topics such as workforce development, innovation, safety and operational efficiency — all central to the sustainable growth of the UK nuclear industry.

As our Key Account Director for Decommissioning , Mark Jenkinson commented:
For us, being part of Nuclear Week in Parliament is more than attending an institutional event — it is an opportunity to contribute to the conversations that shape the future of the UK nuclear industry.

Alongside its engagement in high-level discussions, NUVIA also took part in the Skills Fair, where our apprentices had the opportunity to interact directly with parliamentarians.
These conversations addressed important topics facing the nuclear sector and, importantly, highlighted the strong potential for long-term and rewarding careers within the industry. The participation of our apprentices demonstrated NUVIA’s commitment to skills development, workforce renewal and inspiring the next generation of nuclear professionals.

Shaping the UK Nuclear Economy and Honouring Its Heritage

One of the highlights of NUVIA’s participation was the contribution of Paul Roberts, Director of Decommissioning, to the panel discussion hosted by AECOM, “Delivering Differently – Shaping the Nuclear Economy”, held at the House of Lords.
During the discussion, Paul highlighted key aspects of NUVIA’s approach, including the importance of investing in skills, driving innovation across the sector, and promoting common standards to ensure efficiency, safety and reliability — all essential foundations for any ambition to expand nuclear capability in the UK.
Another memorable moment was the Breakfast hosted by the Northern Nuclear Alliance, which celebrated 80 years of nuclear history in Warrington. The event highlighted the region’s historic significance and its ongoing role in shaping the future of the UK nuclear sector.
For NUVIA, which has a long-standing presence and an office in Warrington, this was a valuable opportunity to reaffirm its long-term commitment to the region, the local community and the delivery of safe, responsible nuclear development.

NUVIA’s contribution to Nuclear Week in Parliament 2026, recognised through a letter of thanks from the President of the Nuclear Industry Association, Tom Greatrex, reflects its active role in shaping the future of the UK nuclear sector. As 2026 unfolds, this is just the beginning.
