On September 18, NUVIA and GTM Sud highlighted safe lifting operations at ITER Safety Day, with interactive demonstrations, a VR simulator, and innovative solutions to protect structures.

The NUVIA teams were pleased to participate in ITER Safety Day on September 18, alongside our partner GTM Sud.

The theme of the day was “The 9 Life-Saving Rules at ITER” — with a focus on the “Lifting” rule at our TOCC (Temporary Openings Closure Contract) stand.

Highlights at our stand included:

  • Polar bridge VR simulator by NUVIA Support for immersive training.
  • Small-scale lifting demonstrations with electric tower cranes for children in a nuclear reactor mock-up environment, simulating safe lifting scenarios.
  • Presentation of NuFoam Impact by NUVIA Structure — aluminum “crash-box” foam for structural protection:
  • Absorbs impact energy (fall, collision, projectile) to limit damage.
  • Filters blast effects and protects sensitive structures.
  • Modular crash-box protection: stackable foamed aluminum panels, quick to deploy.

Thanks to the ITER ORGANIZATION teams, aformaconseil, GTM Sud, and all visitors for these rich exchanges around safety culture.

Let’s continue to make lifting operations safe, controlled, and innovative.
