UKAS-Accredited Calibration and Maintenance Laboratory

NUVIA’s RPI (Radiation Protection Instrumentation) Calibration and Maintenance Laboratory, based at Enterprise Park, Piddlehinton, Dorset, provides specialist radiation protection services to customers operating in the nuclear, defence, healthcare, research and industrial sectors. UKAS-accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, the laboratory delivers calibration, testing and maintenance services for radiation monitoring instruments used to accurately and reliably measure ionising radiation.

Our core calibration services cover a wide range of radiation protection instrumentation and are performed against recognised national standards, including:

  • Dose rate meters
  • Contamination monitors
  • Electronic personal dosemeters
  • Other radiation detection equipment

The laboratory is capable of calibrating instruments for gamma, beta and alpha radiation sources, helping organisations ensure measurement accuracy, regulatory compliance and the highest standards of radiation safety.

In addition to calibration, NUVIA also provides:

  • Instrument servicing
  • Repair
  • Performance testing
  • Technical support

These services help customers maintain the operational readiness, reliability and long-term performance of their radiation monitoring equipment throughout its service life.

Working closely with NUVIA’s Health Physics specialists, the laboratory also supports personal dosimetry services and workplace radiation protection programmes. Through its accredited capabilities and technical expertise, the Piddlehinton facility plays a key role in helping organisations protect personnel, comply with radiation safety legislation and maintain high standards of radiological protection across highly regulated environments.
