Grace Richardson, Project Management Degree Apprentice

“I am currently completing a 4-year Project Management Degree Apprenticeship at NUVIA, which I started in September 2024. I really enjoy working at NUVIA, everyone has been so welcoming and helpful.
It has been great to learn on the job and apply the theories learnt in university to the work I do at here, this has helped me to develop my technical skills and my confidence! The Project Management Apprenticeship Programme is set up in placements, so you have the opportunity to rotate every six months. This has allowed me to widen my internal network, work on various UK projects and learn multiple areas of our diverse business.
The opportunities have been vast and wide ranging, and I can really see a great future here, at NUVIA.”

Ho-Lam Tai, Graduate Mechanical Engineer

“I joined NUVIA as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in September 2024 and have been heavily involved in project work, gaining exposure to many different areas of mechanical engineering. I have been given a good balance of independence and support which has enabled me to deliver a range of deliverables such as CAD drawings, calculations and reports. The graduate scheme has also provided opportunities such as nuclear site visits, becoming a STEM ambassador and development towards chartership with the IMechE.”

Cailey Miller, Mechanical Designer (Apprenticeship completed: 2022)

The NUVIA Apprentice Programme has been a real catalyst for my career in Mechanical Engineering. I’ve had so many opportunities throughout the programme that have continued into my current role. The experience was so impactful I have chosen to continue my journey by undertaking a Degree Apprenticeship with NUVIA’s full support.

Reflecting on my time so far, it’s clear that I’ve grown as a person. I’m looking forward to progressing further in my career and seeing what the next few years have in store!

Emma Slingsby, Business Degree Apprentice

“Starting my career as an apprentice, it’s been great having a working environment where everyone is really supportive, especially my mentor. It’s nice to get a lot of people reaching out with opportunities on various projects…at NUVIA you’re trusted with the responsibility to lead your own projects and you have real autonomy over your own work.”

Tom Lamble, Mechanical Design Engineer Degree Apprentice

“I joined NUVIA in 2023 as a Mechanical Design Degree-Apprentice. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work on several challenging nuclear projects, which have allowed me to develop my engineering skills and as a professional.
Working on these multidisciplinary projects has allowed me to collaborate with a number of experienced engineers across various disciplines and gain an appreciation of the role that each one plays throughout the project lifecycle.
I am looking forward to continuing my journey at NUVIA, completing my degree, gaining further exposure to nuclear projects and continuing to grow professionally and personally.”

Harsh Desai, Graduate Civil & Structural (CS&A) Engineer

“I began my career as a Graduate Civil and Structural Engineer with NUVIA in 2024. The onboarding experience has been excellent, and the team is amazing. The structure of the two-year Graduate Programme offers a perfect balance of external training and opportunities for self-learning. I truly value NUVIA’s strong support for Initial Professional Development (IPD) as I work towards achieving Chartership.
